This is a back catalogue of work by Doulton artist Elizabeth Atkins.
Elizabeth Atkins is recorded as having worked at Doultons from 1876 to 1899. Although not one of the leading designers, she worked in the period when Doultons were exploring new techniques and designs. In this period, the range of coloured glazes increased and such techniques as lathe-turning of the unbaked clay were used. Her technique was not the incised designs of the top designers of the day, such as Eliza Simmance, Edith Lupton, Frank Barlow, and all the Barlow sisters, but more the use of pāte-sur-pāte and applied designs.
