A 7in Doulton Lambeth vase where Edith Lupton has packed all the techniques in the book for Siliconware into one small package. The clay has been incised, dragged, gilded, and covered with pate-sur-pate, all in one small object. What fun she had!
The vase has the Doulton Lambeth Siliconware impressed mark, the date 1884, the incised monogram of Edith D Lupton, and a host of other marks. This is not Edith Lupton at her most precise, this is Edith Lupton being highly creative. The vase weighs 432g.
The vase is in excellent condition. It had a rim chip which has been invisibly restored, but no cracks, or other defects. The gilding is nearly pristine.
