A mint condition pair of superb Doulton Lambeth vases by the ‘daddy’ of all decorative Doulton, George Tinworth, assisted by one of the finest assistants, Bessie Newbery.
The vases have the Royal Doulton impressed mark with crown and lion. Each vase has the incised monogram of George Tinworth at the foot of the vase, and the monogram of Tinworth’s assistant, Bessie Newbery, underneath. They have an impressed coded date ‘j’, for 1909.
The vases are in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or significant scratches.
