A 4.5" Doulton Lambeth handled vase by Bertha Evans

Is it a jug, or is it a vase? This little Doulton Lambeth item has the properties of both - a handle, but no spout! Whichever it is, it is a pretty little piece of very early Doulton in mint condition.

The vase/jug has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date of 1879. It was designed and signed by the designer, Bertha Evans, with the assitance of Emily Partington, who also incised her monogram.

The vase is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or scratching.
