This charming little (3.5") pepperette must be a late work for Florence C Roberts as she finished at Doultons in 1930. It has all the attributes of the Art Deco period, with a reliance on shapes for its representations.
The pepperette has the incised monograms of Florence C Roberts and Emily Partington, the impressed Douton mark and the series number 7954. The flowers on the peperette are diagramatic rather than representational in line with Art Deco practice.
The pepperette is in generally good condition, and displays excellently. There is a small flake to the underside (see photos), and some of the holes in the top appear to have been provoked by the insertion of something to remove blockages. The damage is minimal - again, 'See photos'! Parts of the pepperette have light crazing.
