A simply stunning and important Royal Doulton Art Nouveau 14" (35cm) vase by Francis C Pope, dating from the early 20th century.
The Royal Doulton Art Nouveau 14" vase can be dated to 1906 by the impressed letter 'g' on a shield underneath. It also has the signature of Francis C Pope, his design number 367, the signature of his assistant, Emily Partington, and the impressed RoyalDoulton mark with crown and lion. We also have available a pair of Royal Doulton stoneware vases that appear from the similarities of palette and design to be the work of Francis C Pope.
The vase has had restoration around the top rim, but apart from that it is perfect. There are bubbles in the glaze in places, but they do not detract from the beauty of the vase.
