This Royal Doulton Art Nouveau 9" (22.5cm)vase dates from about 1935, when tubelining enjoyed a resurgence from the previous era of pigment brush-lining. A vase of similar shape and the shape itself are illustrated on p221 of 'The Doulton Lambeth Wares' by Desmond Eyles and Louise Irvine.
The vase has the inpressed Royal Doulton mark with lion and series numbers X9004B and 20789 underneath. It also has an unrecorded monogram of the ceramic artist.
The vase is in mint comdition, without chips, cracks, crazing restoration or scratches.
