This magnificent 12.5" (31cm) Royal Doulton Art Nouveau Stoneware ewer by Jane Hurst dates from the early years of the 20th century. It is a very rare example of one of a series of Royal Doulton shapes with a similar rose design that all have the series number 7816, followed by a suffix.

The vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion, and the series number 7816K. It has the incised monogram of Jane Hurst and the impressed mark of Letitia Rosevear. The floral decoration goes round about two thirds of the circumference.

Apart friom some minor chipping of the base, the ewer is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, crazing, scratches or restorations. The chips are not noticeable as the rim of the base overhangs the chipped area
