A 10" floral Royal Doulton Art Nouveau vase with an applied rose motif by one of Doulton's most meticulous ceramic artists - Bessie Newbery.
The vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion, the mongram of Bessie Newbery, and the series number 7816B. Vases with the number 7816 all have a rose motif as the decoration, but were made in a wide variety of shapes and at least 3 different colours. Bessie Newbery worked at Doultons for over 40 years, and was allowed to produce her own designs as well as those of the top designers.
The vase is in perfect condition, without any chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or even significant scratches.
