George Tinworth - a 5" Doulton Lambeth tankard

A mint Doulton Lambeth condition piece by the 'daddy' and founder of the department at Doultons that produced their first decorative items - George Tinworth.

George Tinworth founded the decorative products division of Doultons in about 1867, and immediately started winning prizes in international competitions. This tankard has the incised monogram of Tinworth, the Doulton Lambeth Mark, the date 1878 and the monogram of Tinworth's assistant, Mary Ann Thompson. The rim and handle are not hallmarked as silver.

CONDITION

The tankard is in immaculate condition, with no cracks, chips, crazing restoration and no scratches. It appears to have lived a very secluded life!
