A mint condition Doulton Lambeth 7.75" (19cm) stoneware jug by one of the finest designers and ceramic artists of the late 19tth century - Frances E Lee.
The jug has the date underneath of 1880, placing it in the early period of decorative Doulton ceramics, when the range of available coloured glazes was limited. It also has the Doulton Lambeth impressed mark and the incised monogram of Frances E Lee. Her precision shows, in that there are no glaze overruns, and all the detail is incised with great accuracy.
The jug is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, scratches or restorations.
