A matched pair of 6.25" (21cm) Doulton Lambeth ewers dating from the last decade of the 19th century.
The Doulton Lambeth ewers are, typically for Victorian items, covered with incised and applied detail. They both have the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with 'England' impressed underneath. this dates the ewesr to a period of 1892, when the use of the word 'England' became mandatory, and 1902 when Doulton became Royal Doulton. They also both have series number 1662 and the signature of the ceramic artist who made them.
They are in forst class condition with the exception of the top rims. These have been the subject of professional restoration, but the quality is such that the restoration is invisible to the naked eye.
