A delightful set of three jugs, 6", 6.5", and 7", from the beginning of the 20th century, one of them signed by Maud Bowden.
The jugs are typical of items produced in about 1905, and afterwards. Many items were monochrome with simple motifs, sparingly applied. Their simplicity is a reaction to the elaborate decoration of the Victorian era. For similar items see p199 of Desmond Eyles' 'The Doulton Lambeth Wares'.
All jugs have the impressed Doulton Lambeth Mark with Crown and Lion, the series number 7356, and the monograms of the ceramic artists. One of these is Maud Bowden.
The jugs are in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, restorations, or even scratches.
