A 7" (18cm) late Art Nouveau vase probably dating from the 1930s by one of Doulton's senior ceramic artists - Lily Partington.
This vase, Art Deco in some ways, hold onto the tradition of the Art Nouveau period. The applied floral motifs are characteristic of a much earlier period, but the colours used are more in touch with those of the Art Deco style. Lily Partington was one of the Senior Assistants at Lambeth. The vase has the impressed Doulton Circle Mark with lion that started use in about 1922, and the incised mongram of Lily Partington.
The vase is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, crazing or restoration.
