A pair of Royal Doulton stoneware Art Deco vases 22.4cm tall with floral and geometric designs, by Minnie Webb and Maud Bowden.

The cloisonne style of these vases is typical of the Doulton production in the 1930s. The shape is one of the 'New Style' shapes first launched in 1935, and available in 3 sizes: this one is the largest. Both vases have the impressed Doulton Circle mark with Lion: one is signed in monogram by Maud Bowden, and the other by Minnie Webb.

The vases are in excellent condition with no cracks crazing or restoration. The slip glaze has however overrun the stoneware, with the result that it has chipped under the vases. This is shown in detail on the photos.
