A pair of 15cm Royal Doulton Siliconware 'cracked ice' or 'mosaic' Doulton Lambeth vases by one of the greatest designers in Doulton's history, Eliza Simmance
A vase similar to this pair of vases is illustrated on page 169 of Desmond Eyles' 'The Doulton Lambeth Wares'. The vases have the Doulton Lambeth impressed mark and, apart from being signed in monogram by Eliza Simmance, have the marks of Alice Russell, Harriet Knight and Ada Tosen under them.
They were made before 1891 as the word 'England' does not appear with the Lambeth mark.
They are in excellent condition with the gilding in near perfect order. They have no cracks, or restoration, but there are 2 very small nibbles to the base of one of the vases.
