A Royal Doulton stoneware Art Deco bowl 18cm in diameter and 9cm tall by Minnie Webb, with stylised shell motifs - 8111A.
In the Art Nouveau period, motifs were stylised, but by the Art Deco period they had become geometric and angular as well. This 18cm diameter bowl comes from the later period. It has the impressed Doulton Circle Mark with Crown and Lion and the monogram of Minnie Webb. It also has the impressed 'm' of Emily Mayes.
The bowl is in excellent condition. It has no chips, cracks or restoration. For the most fastidious, we point out that there is a very small amount of crazing to the glaze in the motif areas.
