This lovely early Doulton Lambeth vase combines in one central band a realistic portrayal of leaves and twigs with a bold and diagrammatic definition of flowers. What a shame that Louisa Edwards was not at Doulton's for the Art Deco period when her creative instincts could have run wild! The 11.5in (29.0cm) Doulton Lambeth vase is signed in monogram by Louisa E Edwards, numbered 351 by her and dated 1882. It is also signed in monogram by Louisa Edwards’ assistant – Harriet Hibbut. The vase weighs 1410g.
No damage or restoration – it’s in 100% in mint condition. There is a very small (2mm) ‘lump’ on the inside of the top rim – See photo No2.
