A lovely pair of vases by the founder of the decorative products arm of the Doulton empire, and despite being about 137 years old, they are in nearly mint condition. The puce coloured rosettes are a rare feature of Tinworth’s work. The 10in (25cm) Doulton Lambeth vases have the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date if 1878. They are both signed in monogram by George Tinworth and also by his assistant Eliza Hubert, a designer in her own right. The vases weigh 946 and 951g.
Three beads that have been damaged on just the one vase have been restored professionally and invisibly. They are in 100% original condition.
