A charming depiction of Victorian life - the rural idyll. The vase shows two teams of carthorses and a dog, carried out in Hannah Barlow inimitable creative style.
The 12in (30cm) Doulton Lambeth vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date 1884. It is signed by Hannah Barlow in monogram and numbered 757. It is also signed in monogram by her sister, Lucy Barlow, and numbered 786. The vase weighs 1803g.
There are small rim chips to the base that have been professionally and invisibly restored.
