Frank Butler may have been a man who verbally had great difficulty communicating with his peers, but his visual communication via his vases was beyond criticism. He appears to have expressed his emotions more in the works such as this one, than verbally to his work-mates.
The 12.5in (31.5cm) vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the word ‘ENGLAND’ underneath, dating the vase to the period from 1992-1902. It is signed in monogram and numbered 3280 by Frank Butler and also signed by his assistant Jane Hurst. The vase weighs 1244g.
