A traditional bird-covered vase by the maestro of such vases. If you only have one Florence Barlow, this is the style to have as it epitomises the work that she carried out for most of her 36 years at Doultons.
The 11in (27.5cm) vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark, with the word ’ENGLAND’ underneath, dating the vase to the period 1892-1902. It is signed in monogram and numbered 953 by Florence Barlow and also signed by her assistant Ethel Beard. The vase weighs 1059g.
There was the most minute fleabite to the top rim which has been invisibly remedied.
