As fine a pair of Silicon ware vases as you will ever find, by as fine a designer as Doulton ever employed! These must have lived in a sheltered environment all their lives, as the surface is totally free from all grime and discolouration - quite simply, the best.
The pair of 10.5in (21cm) vases have the impressed Doulton Lambeth Silicon ware mark with the date of 1885. They are signed in monogram by Eliza Simmance and numbered 736. The vases weigh a total of 2601g.
The vases are in excellent condition, and the matt surface of the silicon ware shows no sign of absorbing atmospheric pollution. The design is as crisp and clear as the day it was detailed by Eliza Simmance. One vase has a small drop of blue glaze inside the top rim of the vase.
