If "small is beautiful", then this is a lovely biscuit barrel! About an inch shorter than a normal biscuit barrel, this may have been designed for something else. Let's just stick with the phrase, "small but beautifully marked" which fits it perfectly!
The Doulton Lambeth biscuit barrel measures 5.75in (14cm) to the top of the finial. It has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark, and is signed in monogram by Edith Lupton. It is dated 1881. The biscuit barrel weighs 774g.
One ‘rosette’ had minor damage, and has been professionally restored. The ‘bright work’ has been re-plated and is in excellent order.
