A rare example of a pair of burnt orange vases by the prima donna of this type of Doulton vase. Perfection in all ways, - design, colour, and execution. Eliza Simmance was fortunate to have had the assistance of Alice Groom, whose ability to execute finely detailed work was always superb. The vases weigh a total of 2125g.
The pair of mint condition 10.5in (26cm) vases have the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date 1884. They are both signed by Eliza Simmance and Alice Groom, and numbered 399.
