Regrettably, not a tyg, but the next best thing. A 6.75in (17cm) 2-handled loving cup (mug) with a fine and elaborate design that is so characteristic of its period. The silver rim is by Charles Mappin of “Mappin and Webb” fame.
A 6.5in (16cm) silver-rimmed Doulton Lambeth ‘loving cup’ by Frances E Lee. It has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date of 1879. It is signed in monogram by Frances Lee, but not numbered. The loving cup weighs 1190g.
One handle has been broken, but professionally and invisibly restored. Some scratching to the silver rim. There are firing cracks underneath.
