The colours of this lovely jug herald the Art Nouveau movement even though the vase was made in the last decade of the Victorian era. Mark Marshall was always innovative!
A 7.5in (18.5cm) jug signed in monogram by Mark V Marshall and numbered 236. It has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the word ‘ENGLAND’ underneath, dating the jug to the period 1892-1902. The jug weighs 1126g.
It is possible that the lip of the jug has been damaged at some time, as the glaze in that area appears to have been re-coated.
