This time we have two ends of the amazing spectrum of Eliza Simmance’s outstanding ability. The Art Nouveau end is this vase, but compare it with the lidded jar that was produced in her early years at Doultons. A prodigious talent whose style developed with the times in which she worked!
The 7in (17.5cm) Art Nouveau vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion. It is signed in monogram by Eliza Simmance and her ever careful assistant Jane Hurst. The vase is numbered 414 by Eliza Simmance, and has the coded date mark ‘h’ for 1907. The vase weighs 729g.
