Another masterpiece by the Doulton designer with the widest ever range of styles. Designed by Eliza Simmance in 1918, after 45 years at Doultons, it bears no resemblance to her style used by her in the 19th century. Was there no limit to her versatility? Apparently not! The 11.75in (29cm) Royal Doulton vase has the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion and the coded date stamp ‘S’ for 1918. It is signed in monogram by Eliza Simmance and numbered 385 by her. Surprisingly, it has no assistant’s mark, suggesting that the decoration was all done by Eliza Simmance herself. The vase weighs 1458g.
The vase is free of all chips cracks, and restorations.
