We don’t know if this dish is designed for the dressing table or the dinner table! What is certain is that it is a quality item. Both the pâte-sur-pâte designs on the main body of the dish, and the engraving of the rim, finial and lid are of exquisite quality.
A 5.25in (13cm) diameter Silicon ware bowl with silver plated lid finial and handle. The bowl has the impressed Doulton Lambeth Silicon mark and the date 1885. It is signed in monogram by the designer Alice Groom. The bowl weighs 477g.
The bowl has no chips, cracks or restoration.
There is possibly very slight wear to the gold base rim of the bowl.
