This important pair of Royal Doulton 12.75in (32cm) vases appear to be symbolic of a change in outlook associated with the granting of a Royal Warrant in 1902, the year that they were made. Gone are the traditional baluster shapes, and the vases are made in a new shape with an exuberant design. The 12.75in (32cm) vases have the impressed Royal Doulton mark with crown and lion. They are signed in monogram by Florence Barlow, and one is numbered 312. Both have the coded date (c) for 1902 and the monogram of Florence barlow's assistant, Ethel Beard. The vases weigh 3600g.
Apart from a small and professionally restored rim chip, the vases are in 100% original condition. The restoration is visually undetectable.
