A gem of a vase by this designer who was always able to produce vases that were completely different from the ‘run-of-the-mill’ designs of the period. Black was not a frequent colour for vases at the time and that choice of colour succeeds so well with this vase.
A 4.5in (11.5cm) Royal Doulton Art Deco vase. The vase is signed in monogram by Vera Huggins, and her assistant Jane Hurst. It is numbered 118 and 654, and code dated for 1931. The vase weighs 642g.
The vase is in mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing restoration, or significant scratches.
