To cover the field of early Doulton collecting, a pair of seaweed Tinworths is an essential that every collector should have.
A pair of 8in (20cm) Doulton Lambeth vases both signed on the outside with Tinworth’s GT monogram – one on the neck, and one on the central seaweed band. Underneath they have the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark, the date 1878, and the monogram of Tinworth’s assistant, Rosina Brown. The vases weigh a total of 1280g.
These two vases are in exceptional and totally original condition. Even the tips of the rosettes appear to be 100% intact. The treatment of the design around the lower part of the neck is different on the two vases – very hand made!
