A delightful 7in (18cm) Doulton Lambeth jug mainly in Doulton’s traditional cobalt blue, with a combination of natural and geometric patterns.
The jug has the Doulton Lambeth rosette stamp with the date of 1881. It is signed in monogram by Martha Rogers and numbered 143. It is also signed by Martha Rogers’ assistant, Rosina Harris. It is likely that at one stage the jug had a silver rim. The jug weighs 650g.
The jug is in excellent condition. One very small chip to the spout of the jug has been professionally and invisibly restored. The jug has two small firing cracks underneath (see photo No4).
