A pretty, small (31cm/12.25in) animalia Doulton Lambeth vase by the greatest sgrafitto artist ever to work at Doultons.
The 30cm (12in) vase has the Doulton Lambeth impressed mark with the word ‘England’ dating the vase to the period 1892-1902. It has the incised monograms of Hannah Barlow, and her design number 19, and that of Louisa Russell with her design number 198. The vase weighs 861g.
There is a hair line crack on the upper side of the base following the natural incised line of the design, and is invisible. The chip and crack have been professionally restored. The vase now appears to be perfect.
