A sweet little Doulton Lambeth vase by the second most eminent member of the redoubtable Barlow family in her characteristic style, with two panels of sgraffito birds.
This 22cm (8.75in) tall vase has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the date of 1885. It is signed in monogram by Florence Barlow and her assistant 'M R' and has her design number 727. The vase weighs 535g.
The vase is in excellent condition. The vase may have been a lamp at some stage as it has a hole in the base that in no way detracts from the display of the vase. Apart from an original firing crack on the neck of the vase, which has been professionally restored, and the hole in the base it is totally original, without chips, crazing or any other damage.
