A delightfully elegant slim Doulton Lambeth vase by the lady who was arguably the most versatile lady designer Doultons ever had – Eliza Simmance.
The vase is 31cm (12.3in) tall. It has the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the word ’ENGLAND’ underneath dating the vase to the period 1892-1902. It has the incised monogram of Eliza Simmance and her design number 494, together with the incised monogram of Eliza Simmance’s assistant Rosina Brown. The jug weighs 607g.
The vase is in totally original condition, except that it had a chip to the top rim. This has been professionally restored and the vase is now in apparently mint condition.
