A superb pair of Doulton Lambeth vases by the finest of Doulton's animal depictors - Hannah Barlow. Each one is exquistely decorated with horses and one donkey. In producing these, Hannah Barlow was assisted by one of the finest of decorators, Bessie Newbery. At 35cm (14in) in height they are perfect for display in a room of almost any size. Top quality in great condition.
The vases each have the same detail underneath. They are signed in monogram by both Hannah Barlow and her assistant Bessie Newbery. They have Hannah Barlow's design number, 457, and the impressed Doulton Lambeth mark with the word 'England' underneath, dating them to the period 1891-1902. The vases weigh 4500g.
With the exception of a fleabite sized chip to the base rim of one vase, they are 100% in mint condition. The chip has been professionally and invisibly restored, and the vases are now both in perfect condition.
