A highly creative and beautifully executed Doulton Lambeth ewer from the middle period of Eliza Simmance’s career at Doulton. Usually the decoration of a ewer is symmetrical about a line through the handle. This ewer has two panels starting in the middle of one side and meeting at the other. The quality of the gazing is particularly good, with no overruns. The bead sizes are all very carefully graduated. |
