This mint condition sweet little Doulton Lambeth 5.5in vase is uncharacteristically lively in colour for an item from the 1870s; the cobalt blue is normal, but a cream background is somewhat unusual. With a pattern very precisely incised and with glaze very carefully applied, this vase may be small but it is 'exquisitely formed'. The vase weighs 322g.
The vase is in mint condition. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations. One small white bead is missing, but as the blank area is glazed, it is reasonable to assume that the bead was missing when the vase was fired - hence mint condition!
