This mint condition 8.5in (21cm) Doulton Lambeth jug dates from Florence Barlow's early days at Doulton, before she specialised in animalia and then bird subjects. It still shows the influence of George Tinworth, with rosettes and fine beadwork.
The jug, which weighs 759g, has the Doulton Lambeth impressed mark with an inserted date of 1876. It has the incised monogram of Florence Barlow and un unnamed assistant 'EB'. The top is proteted by a silver plated rim.
The jug is in 100% mint condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations.
