This lovely Doulton Lambeth 7.5in (9cm) tall jardinière is, for Frank Butler, a restrained item. Designed to hold flowers, perhaps Frank Butler considered the swirling curves of plants would benefit from the geometric patterns rather than his more flamboyant incised shapes.
The Jardinière has the impressed Doulton Lambeth rosette with the date 1884. The jardinière is signed in monogram by Frank Butler and has his design number 165. It also has the monograms of William Edward Dunn and Emily Partington. The jardinière weighs 1856g.
A small number of the black beads around the circumference of the jardinière have been replaced, but apart from that, the Jardinière is in mint condition.
